Notice: Your doctor's office must phone in a valid prescription in your name to any of these listed! As a rule, pharmacies prefer that you doctor make sure to state on your prescription for testosterone "TO BE COMPOUNDED" or state on the phone the same, if called in. You must then call the pharmacy and set up shipping and payment arrangements!

From a client Joey

Newest update email from Joey May 2008 (THANK YOU to Joey for keeping the T-Male updated)

You're very welcome, Nick, but as it happens, ApothéCure raised their prices three months ago.  The price of a 200mg/ml 10ml vial of T is now $50.95, with them citing increased costs of the materials. As they'd had the same LOW price for many years, I suppose it's overdue and it's a 50% savings over the generics at local chain pharmacies.

Older update from Joey

I'm Joey/GenericFtM, listowner FtM-trans Group and Network and have personally used Apothecure since that Depo scarcity a few years back. I was, of course, astonished at the price difference and never went back to non-compounded.

Since I live in Dallas, I sometimes pick up my own prescriptions (I fill other things besides T, they are kind of a new age health place, big into vitamins, 'wellness' and whatnot) and met many of the employees. They have moved once during that time but remain in north Dallas (this is why some sites list wrong contact info).

They are always extremely nice and efficient, willing to call your doctor with problems and fix them, etc.  The T-male listing correction I wanted to make is that the price of a ten ml vial of 200mg/ml T is precisely $32.96 and has been since I began using them, whenever that Depo shortage was...2003? Anyway, absolutely zero price change thus far.

The shipping price varies, depending on how far, and is usually lower than the stated $8.

There is no tax charged and if you're just getting the vial, it's exactly and always $36.96--shipping extra.  They will also sell individual or bulk syringes and needles at standard prices, etc, but I've always preferred to buy those in bulk from cottonballs dot com.

Compounded Testosterone Source 4
Professional Discount Pharmacy OKC, OK

May 24, 2006- I am advising that Transmen transfer their prescriptions to Stroheckers or have new refills called into Stroheckers (see first listing).

I cannot promise now that your experience with PDP will be as pleasant as before or that the staff will treat Transmen as well as the previous owner and staff that have left. (A recent email to the right shows my suspicion came to fruition - See to the right >)

PDP raised the price for compounded T, started charging for shipping, did away with their 800 numbers, raised the price of my prescriptions without notice and failed to tell me at anytime of the changes to Testosterone prices or shipping.

Why? PDP was bought by into a large corporation. Just like most companies who are about $$$, in my option based on personal experience of late, PDP is now lacking in one on one personal compassionate care. I cannot, in good conscience, send fellow Transmen to them anymore.

I will be taking my business for my T to another drug store other Transmen here are using (then hopefully post their listing here!) or have my T script called in to Stroheckers. Nick

An email from an unhappy client:

July 3, 2006

Hey Nick.

I just wanted to back your rejection of the Pharmacy in OKC. The little dick munchkin I spoke with on the phone 'ma'med' me 4 times, and did it twice in a row after I told him my name which is (name withheld until permission to post is obtained)! I have been on T for two years an haven't been Ma'med for a year and a half.  Because of this obvious bias, I would be reluctant trusting them with something as important as my medication.

The only way i could justify his behavior is if he is a complete moron and thinks that I am MTF. (Maybe he is actually trying to be respectful) I am just not sure. Who doesn't know that MTF's do not want Testosterone?
Thank you for your time.

B

IMPORTANT!  David & Paula have left PDP - David quit in early 2005 and Paula left when her job was phased out when the larger company bought PDP. The new owners have their own accounting department, which is what Paula did in store.

Q&A of Compounded Testosterones

"Why does the name brand cost more? "

Because there are no caps on prescription drug prices. And because testosterone is not made in generic form en mass anymore (since 1998) by Schein (who made generic forms sold under their name and Rugby), retail pharmacies now see a way to make more money so they jack the price for name brand testosterones through the roof Name brands (see below) can run more than $100 per 10 mL vial! Yet pharmacies who can compound the same version in generic form, either testosterone in sesame seed oil or cotton seed oil, can sell from for what they feel is fair.

Name brands Depo-Testosterone (generic name Cypionate) and Delatestryl (generic name Enanthate)

"But wouldn't these compounded versions be less effective than the name brand?"

Compounded testosterones are based on the same formula large companies such as BTG Labs and Upjohn use. The reason small chain and mom and pop pharmacies can use this formula is because the trademark has expired, so any legal drug store in the USA can compound testosterones based on that formula. New drugs cannot be compounded or they cannot be compounded full strength or they violate the existing valid trademark. A well known drug for hair loss in men called Propecia can be compounded but not at full strength because it's still protected by it's copyright and trademark. If a pharmacists wishes, he can compound this drug at .95 mg instead of 1 mg and get away without violating the law. Testosterone isn't protected by any trademark, not anymore.

"How do I know what pharmacy is reputable and will compound my testosterone properly without compromising the effectiveness?"

The pharmacies listed here, on this page, have been proven reliable, the most reliable, well known and widely used will be listed first and second. They all have reasonably priced compounded testosterones and are used by Transmen across the nation. The only time a pharmacy listed here will get a bad mark or black listed, is if they take advantage of the client by marking the price too high, if they lie to a client and tell them that they cannot legally compound testosterone in order to sell the client the higher priced name brand or if they start to produce a inferior product. They will still be listed with reasons why they were blacklisted so the visitor can be aware of any problems.

"Is there a pharmacy listed here that is located in Canada?"

Yes! Apothecure has chains in Canada. See their listing for the 800 number!

"What about the cream, patch or gel?" Many find them very effective though your experience may vary.
