New!  Posted 4/22/08 KALI Transwoman Needs your Help paying forSurgery     Hi guys, My name is Kali and it looks like I am the first transwoman to post here.  I am grateful that there is such a place for us to help each other through transition, financially and emotionally.    About me: I am a 25 year old MTF living in the Bay Area.  I have been transitioning for the past two years almost, and thus far have managed to pay for it myself (hormones/laser, trachea shave, sperm storage..).  Last year, partly out of desperation, I started escorting and was soon making enough to cover my immediate expenses. My own family disowned me because they were afraid I would influence my younger siblings. I have not had much luck in the years. I have not been able to afford T or chest surgery. It seems something always comes up when I start saving. I get depressed because I feel like I have gone no where and I don't want to be stuck in a body I don't belong. I am asking anyone out there who will help me. Please! If you would like to help you may contact me via e-mail mojason212003@yahoo.com .   Sincerely   Jay Moore Top   Posted 03/12/07  Jim needs help paying for chest surgery   My name is Jim.  I am starting T in the next two weeks depending on how fast my blood work comes back.  I am in debt really bad.  I need help to raise money for chest surgery.  I would like to have surgery within a year or less.  I have a hard time getting a flat chest.  I am a 36 D.  The binder helps, but I my breasts still show.  My wife and I have 4 kids together and we have over $3,000 in doctors bills we are trying to pay off for the kids.  I also have over $40,000 in school loans I am trying to pay off as well as $3,500 I owe back to the Army.  I was discharged for being homosexual and I have to pay back money they paid me in bonus money that they want back.  We also have lots of credit card debt because of the kids (school, clothes, food, gas, ect.)  Probably $20,000 worth at this time.  I have no way to save for chest surgery unless I win the lotto.  It is very difficult to deal with my breasts.  It is physically and mentally disturbing to deal with these enormous thins everyday and they hurt all for two weeks every month because of that disgusting thing I get once a month and hopefully that will stop once I start T.  Any help anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated!  I am trying to save a few dollars here and there.  My family does not have the money to help.  I am going to start a savings act. as soon as I have at least a hundred bucks saved to open the act.  I am fortunate to have my insurance cover my T thank God or that would be very difficult for me. I am having a very hard time finding any kind of job right in Feb. I have been on T for over a year and because of my financial situation I cannot afford to go to the doctor or get my T refilled. I have started menstruating again and don't need to tell you how disgusting and horrible that is. I tried to set up a donation account but I because I owe money to my bank and it has been closed because I don't have the money to maintain it. My ex is a lesbian, and not ok with me being transgendered.  I am currently unemployed, she played on my weekness of wanting to be accepted.  She wrecked her car, had no insurance or license.  One place said they would take her car and mine on a trade so she could get a new car.  I at the time was in school and she told me she would get me there and I could take the bus back. Well that lasted a whole week, I had to drop out, and now I"m unemployed.  She pays all the bills and food and such, but I start therapy on Tuesday, and have an interview for a job on Wednesday, what I need is a pissing packer,  I can't afford one until I get a paycheck, but am sure that I will have to pee at work before that.  The employer who is calling me in for an interview knows im transgendered but the other employees dont so they will just see me as a male without much hair...lol...if anyone could help with the pissing packer, i would greatly appreciate it.  Also, if anyone has any clothes that would help too. waist size 38. shirt size XL...thank you shaun_westermann@yahoo.com   shane Top   Posted 01/18/07 -Patrick needs a binder Hello,   Over the weekend I was assaulted and my binder was torn and taken as evidence. I won't be getting it back for a very long time and even if I did it'd be torn and I'll probably have had surgery by then. I'm an unemployed youth and I can't afford a new binder. The one I had was a hand me down one from a friend. If any one has any spare small binders I would sincerely appreciate a donation. Being in college 8 hours away from my parents I was finally able to look as I wanted. Looking as I did in a conservative Texas school didn't go to well. I was always worried what would happen at work (all that $ goes to pay off hospital bill from an accident I had in May), if I would loose my scholarships, and many other things. All these internal problems were reflected in my grades, and I have lost one of my scholarships. A semesters tuition is almost $19,000, and I am $500 short. If I don't come up with it in 2 months, I get automatically withdrawn from school. I currently go to school and work three jobs. I am really struggling to make my rent home bills, much less my doctor bills. I threw my back out this summer and lost a lot of income in recovery and I am still paying this bill off. In addition to this I also have the past three months of therapy bills which have piled up. The last two I can work of slowly but what I really need help with is the letter fee my therapist is charging me. With it I should be starting T in December. Without the 150 dollar fee I don't know when I will be able to start. This wouldn't be as hard to come by but the problem is I have to spend 40 dollars each trip to have a session because I live 3 hours from the city. I appreciate all help anyone can give and I plan to repay the kindness the community shows each other and help others out when I can, but for now things are really rough. My parents are not supportive of my need to transition. I started attending a public university as a psychology and psychoanalytical theories major when I was 18 and my parents were then ok with my “lesbian” status, and were extremely supportive of me both financially as well as emotionally. However now that I am out to them as a tranny boy, they are no longer willing to support me either way. I am struggling to come up with 2,000 dollars just to pay for schooling. I know that I need to stay in school but I can not maintain the grades needed to stay in school as well as work my two jobs. I know there are so many trans people that are struggling with financials but if you could consider sending me even just some petty cash it would be amazingly helpful. I have been living as a male for about 12 years now but just started transitioning. I should be starting hormones Nov. 14, 2006.I have top surgery schedualed for Nov.29, 2006.I was suppose to get a loan, so there was no worries except how was I going to get surgery and can't even pay for food. Now the loan fell through so now my surgery will be pushed back and now I won't have extra for food. I’ve been male identified since the age of 15. I am former foster youth and I was put into the system at the age of 13 due to coming out as a lesbian to my born-again mother and Army Sgt. Stepfather. I’ve been on T for almost a year and because I just turned 21, I have lost my stated funded medical insurance for being a foster youth and I now have to find a way to pay for even that. I have working constantly since the age of 15, never been a moth without a job, and I am also a fulltime student. I spent my 18 birthday searching for a place to sleep and did the same thing ever night for another year, due not only to being homeless and uneducated about finances; I ran up my credit (not on frivolous things) and am now not able to get a medical loan for surgery or even to continue my education. I live in an expensive area in California and though I could leave and save money the only connections and support I have, including the love of my life that has stuck by me through all of this, are here and without them I could not survive. I do a lot of activist work for the trans community and the LGBT community at large, I started an annual Trans March and Rally in my town before I was 16. I train on LGBT awareness with the National Center for Lesbian Rights, San Francisco State University, and California Youth Connection (an advocacy group of and for current and former foster youth). I don’t think of this as asking for free help, though it may be, I think of this as trying to get back what I have put into and continue to put into helping our community and educating others about the LGBT community. I guess what I am asking is for help in financing my top surgery which totals $8,000. Hi guys

My name is Mick and I am 38. I have been on T for about 3 years now and
recently found out I have fibroid-tumors on my ovaries. I have been
having horrible pain for a while and now I know the reason. I need to
raise 10k for a hysto. I am a full time student and have no insurance.

I am working on my MA in counseling so I am willing to offer counseling
services once I am licensed for free to anyone needing assistance, but
this will be at least a year or so from now.
