Upcoming Events in my Life: Fixing up my home
First, I
had central heat installed in my home in November
(Next will be
the a/c condenser in late March). I own
an older home that did not have HVAC when I bought it.
Regarding the install: Having people in my home was a
challenge. On top of that I was sick as hell and the crap that
came down into the house from the attic was unreal-
insulation, fiber glass, dust from 73 years. My bathroom
smelled like a urinal - I have no idea who was the one not
able to hit the toilet but I spent a lot of time cleaning and
re-cleaning my bathroom. I have a very keen sense of smell -
annoyingly so; it was rough on the nose.
Next,
after I have the HVAC installed, I am having the whole house
rewired
(Had the house wiring inspected when the central heat was
installed - got a clean bill of health; no need to go the the
expense of having it rewired at this time - whew!)
The hardwood floors refinished (some genius poured
concentric circles of glue on the original 1930's oak hardwood
- brilliant!) to hold the padding for the carpet in place.
Later in winter, the kitchen floor tiled with travertine &
granite counter tops installed.
The back patio need rebuilt
but plan to do that with a buddy in spring along with
re-roofing the garage.
