Nick's notes: From the looks of these comments from 2 guys who are in Jacksonville, one submitted the above information, this might be the same place and they might have different offices. I am waiting for an address and more information from the latter comment submitter.

I would recommend going to the Eagle Harbor office as we had some problems with the staff at the Kingsley office. He's a great guy. My mom and sisters have been seeing him for awhile and he's very soft-spoken and will take the time to make sure you are ok."

She's transfriendly and tries to make it all as painless as possible. The office is next to St. Vincent's at the beach."

From a client: i made an appt. to see Dr. Brickler. the front office staff and scheduling personnel weren't the friendliest, but he was GREAT! he explained everything that he was going to do. and was very compassionate to my 'situation', having to be there as a guy. i mentioned to him that my goal was to eventually have a hysterectomy. about 3 weeks later i got a phone call from the medical assistant that helped (she was awesome also!). she told me that the pap smear came back abnormal, but that it would work out because i wanted a hysterectomy anyway. Ask about insurance during your appointment

From her patient: 'His staff was amazing and I felt very comfortable there, even when I had to go in for the horrid stuff like pap smears, internal ultrasound, etc. Also... there are a couple of really awesome residents there that helped on my case, Dr. Laura Neal who I believe just completed her residency, and Amina Ahmad who was a first year resident and was my favorite. She even came up to check on me and do a dressing change once she had rotated off my floor, She was the best. Anyway, save for my horrible surgery experience***, the overall care and concern was more than I expected.'

From a patient: "The doctor is very FTM-friendly and does internal exams and hysterectomies and/or oopherectomies for FTM's."

They both work at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, NY. I used to work at this facility and it's a great place to go because not only do they accept most private insurance, but they also accept NYS Medicaid, and have a sliding scale for the uninsured.

For those guys who are not threatened by a women's space. This office is also very "queer friendly," but I would advise checking out prices if you are uninsured, as they are a private practice.

Other notes by the submitter: Guys, I cannot impart onto you how important it is to have an annual exam. I thank G-d for these medical providers who have made accessing care as easy as it was before I began my transition.

Nick's Notes: I know most of us don't seek out a doctor like this unless there is a problem, which even then we over look, or when we need to have our total and complete hysterectomies. I hope to find out where these doctors stand on performing the surgery. When I get that info, I will post it here and if you have any history on these docs, please let me know.

TG friendly, treats many TG patients, friendly caring waiting room staff and nurses, does Pap smears for FTM's in office (for privacy for the transitioning Transmale)

Treats and is Tg friendly, for extreme problems or biopsies, etc, etc but waiting room would be a problem or continuing treatment for the transitioning Transmale, as there are all women there.

From a patient: "The staff is very respectful, not at all intimidated, grossed out or surprised by my GID. Kaplan has been the trans gyn for decades. He is NOT a primary care physician, unfortunately."

From a patient: "Very friendly and professional. I have been pleased with their service. I highly recommend this doctor."

Dr. Bowers is MTF and works with an openly gay General Practitioner, Robert Killian
